The 7 Best Rated Microdermabrasion Machines Reviewed 2020

I am really blessed with naturally good skin. That isn’t to say that I don’t have breakouts and that I don’t take really good care of it. I use fabulous products that I know to work for me, and I love pampered treatments. I bought a Groupon several years ago for a microdermabrasion treatment, and I got hooked! I love that it literally sucks all the impurities, blackheads out and sloughs off all the dead skin leaving a new, fresh and lovely complexion.

Microdermabrasion in salons can get pretty pricey, but for the price of just a couple of treatments, you can buy a super-efficient home microdermabrasion machine. You don’t have to leave home every two weeks for a 20-minute treatment. In fact for the time it takes you to drive to the salon you can already have finished your home treatment.

I personally own this machine and use it religiously once a week. It has a digital screen and is self-explanatory on how to use it. Do not use it on the eyelids and only go as close to the eye as the orbital bone. I might be a bit biased because I own this unit, but I do thank it for how great my skin looks. You know you have great skin when dermatologists comment on it. Hey, I’m not going down without a fight in the war against aging.

2. PMD Personal Microderm Pro

This is a quick and easy treatment to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and reduce the size of your pores. The PMD Personal Microdermasion Pro provides the same brilliant results as salon microdermabrasion treatments.

The unit suctions out blackheads and impurities, removing the dead layer of skin, exposing a fresh radiant complexion.

The Trophy Skin MicrodermMD Sensitive at Home Beauty System is one of the most user-friendly of all the machines we tested.

It comes with a diamond tip as well as a pore-extracting and infusion tip plus 100 filters.

The LED screen clearly tells you what to do, and has a count down timer to remind you how much time you have left in your treatment.

With three settings, I suggest that you start with the sensitive mode and then work through auto up to manual mode. Even in the salon, they will always start you off on a lower setting and work up to a higher suction on subsequent visits.

7. Vanity Planet Exfora Microdermabrasion Wand

The Vanity Planet Exfora Microdermabrasion Wand is an inexpensive yet very effective microdermabrasion machine absolutely worthy of making my list. It’s a small, handheld device that is cordless and so it’s easy to transport or even taken on extended vacations.

It’s easily charged from a USB port and the battery lasts more than you’ll need for a couple of treatments.

It features three settings and again, I suggest that you start off on the lower setting and work to a higher setting on subsequent treatments.

It comes with 4 tips, and you’ll quickly get accustomed to which head to use where. They are normal, fine, body and massage heads. I use a narrower tip around my nose and chin, and then a broader on the rest of my face and neck. Even when I go for a professional microdermabrasion session, they only use two different tips on me. More is not really necessary.

This is not as powerful a unit as other more expensive dermabrasion units, however, it still does a good job and you’ll still see an amazing difference.

How to Choose the Best Microdermabrasion Machine Buying Guide:

You only have one skin, and it’s so important to take care of it. The good news is that it is never too late to start. No matter how much you’ve abused your skin, it will respond well to treatments.

With microdermabrasion, it boosts collagen, giving your skin a firmer, plumper and more radiant appearance. I’ve been a fan of microdermabrasion for a few years now, and I know what I look for in a machine. I’ve listed what I deem the most important features of a microdermabrasion machine.

SUCTION POWER

The suction ability of your machine is key to extracting impurities, and blackheads. If your device doesn’t have enough suction, you are going to be disappointed in the results. The Microderm GLO and the Trophy Skin MicrodermMD have the best suction power out of the units I reviewed.

THE KIND OF TIPS

The best heads are diamond encrusted and a unit should come with at least several types of different tips. A smaller one for around the sides of the nose, and in any creases on your face including your chin and around your lips. A larger one is better for your neck and decollete area as well as the rest of your face. A selection of different tips is nice for you to experiment with and see which ones you prefer, so it’s an added bonus.

HOW EASY IS IT TO USE?

If you are anything like me you are not very tech-savvy. I hate reading instructions, I am definitely a “plug-in and go” kind of girl. If something is not easy to use, then I get frustrated easily and the likelihood is that I’ll give up. Many of these microdermabrasion machines that I reviewed come with instructional LED screens that walk you through the process.

I need easy, and these machines are just that. The Trophy Skin MicrodermMD has a LED screen that tells you what level you are using and how much time you have left. You can’t get easier than that!

WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?

At-home microdermabrasion is a perfect tool that helps keep skin glowing by gently lifting dead, dull skin cells from the outermost skin layer. By removing this layer, microdermabrasion also allows topicals to penetrate more deeply and increase their efficacy. This means you will spend a whole lot less on expensive skin products because your skin absorbs products far more efficiently meaning you can use less.

Microdermabrasion is not painful, and you won’t need to numb your face first. It’s a strong suction, that removes all impurities such as excess oil, dead skin, blackheads, etc and works as a deep exfoliation, exposing the newer layer of skin underneath.

WHAT DOES MICRODERMABRASION HELP WITH?

Microdermabrasion is a miracle worker. I have a sunspot on my face that I have had since my 20’s. I have used all sorts of lightening creams on, but the thing that works best? Microdermabrasion hands down.

Microdermabrasion helps with:

  • Sunspots
  • Blemishes
  • Acne Scars
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Fine wrinkles
  • Wrinkles
  • Collagen boosting
  • Smaller pores
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

After a microdermabrasion treatment, my skin usually feels tight, almost like it has a bit of a sunburn. I avoid wearing make up for that day, and let my skin rest and “breathe”. Sometimes there is a bit of redness but that could also be because I love to follow up on my microdermabrasion treatment with an enzyme mask.

HOW DO I PREP FOR A TREATMENT?

Thoroughly cleanse your skin. If you have a facial steamer, use that prior to microdermabrasion to open up the pores, and allow the machine to suction deep into your pores.

Dry your skin and start to use the microdermabrasion. I go over each area three times in a grid fashion. I then replace the tip with a smaller one and do my nose area and chin/upper lip.

Afterward, I use a moisturizer with SPF and I stay out of the sun. You’ve just exposed new skin, so your skin is more sensitive to the sun and will easily sunburn.

SUMMARY

You are going to fall in love with microdermabrasion and wonder why you didn’t try a home microdermabrasion machine earlier. It truly is one of the few in-home systems that gives you the same results as a spa treatment for a fraction of the price. The first time you use it you will see results, and I suggest using it once a week to keep your skin in tip-top shape.
